Im sure many of you that ride through the mountains of Virginia or hike and camp our national forest have seen a great deal of the various wildlife that inhabits our land.
I have witnessed a great deal of them such deer, sightings of bear as well as numerous encounters with them, Skunks, rabbits , Turkey, Fisher cat, Bard owls, bald eagles, osprey by the lakes, marsh hawks, red tail hawks, Coyotes and so many others I can mention but Im here to bring attention to a much more elusive stealthy and beautiful animal.
The Mountain Lion aka cougar. Although the department denies ever recieving reports there is a great deal of eyewitnesses and one of them being myself. As an independent wildlife researcher and Cryptozoologist I am always observing my surroundings in the great outdoors and Have found the tracks that belong to almost every living creature that lives here in Virginia and the mountain lion is just one of many however Ive witnessed a black cat crossing the forest road in 2015. I have also gathered and picked up reports of farmers having them on their property. Who would trust as an incredible source an eyewitness or someone who denies reports?
Mountain lion (common breed)
Perhaps you have witnessed one of these beautiful creatures yourself, please feel free to share your story with me.
Or maybe you have witnessed something much larger and out of the ordinary that you can’t explain and want to share with someone who will understand and believe you. As a Cryptozoologist I research and study the unknown an unclassified elusive primate also denied by many BIGFOOT!
Tell me about it with details date and location:

Some People are ignorant and closed minded. There is information online that explains how they were once native in these parts and the reintroduction of many species that came about here in Virginia.

I have heard the DGIF respond as such: with all the game camera’s, road strikes, and hunters shooting,,, why has no one presented a single picture or dead cat to prove their assertions. That being said, I tend to believe they are here regardless. But what do I know?

Roger thank you for your comment. The sightings of cats have been reported by reliable sources photos have been shown but also has been confiscated. Some individuals with cat Reports have had been giving directly to the DGIF and the responses have been there is no such thing or Thats not what you saw. Sad but true.

I am beginning to think a FOIA request might be the best way to force the issue.

I saw what I believe to be a mountain last Saturday afternoon in broad day light in Bath County, Va near Hot Springs. It has been very dry (No rain)and I noticed a cat running away from the creek near a summer home as I was driving down a secondary road.. At first thought it was a large bobcat but it had a long tail and was too big to be a bobcat. Definitely not a Ferrell today or Fisher either.

In the late summer or early fall of 2017, I saw, what appeared to be a large black panther in my yard in Roanoke County Virginia. We live in a very mountainous and woodsy area. It’s was around 11 pm when I heard a thud outside around our trash cans. I went to the window and shined my flash light thinking I would find a bear or raccoons but I didn’t see anything. A few minutes later it happened again, and again I couldn’t see any animal around our trash. About 10 minutes later I heard it again but louder this time. So, instead of going to the window, I went to the front of the house and flipped on the motion detector light which lights up the entire front yard and a small portion of the side yard. I ran back to the dining room window and looked out and low and behold I saw a huge cat like animal. It was walking leisurely up my driveway. It had to walk passed the lighted area of the yard but it stayed on the edge of the light . I could still see the he rear of it well as it walked up the hill. It was low to the ground and very cat like. It was all black and had a long tube like tail. My immediate thought was.. OMG that is a panther. Haven’t seen it since.
